Summary of the story

The story starts when Danny accidentally spills soda on one of his birthday gifts, a RC plane, and it enlarges enough so it could fit Danny’s whole family inside it. Unfortunately, Danny’s house is destroyed when the machine starts up and the family decides to travel to Massachusetts (from England). On the way, they run into Grandpa Garth’s plane and all of Danny’s relatives join Danny’s family.

Two hours later, after a nap, Danny finds out that the spacecraft has flown through the atmosphere and they have entered outer space. They land on the Moon and have a fun time there. When they come back to their spacecraft, 100 Martian Spacebattlers attack the spacecraft. The only way Danny and his passengers could survive the attack was to fire their own cannons. They eventually win the battle and head on farther from Earth and more into outer space.

Later, they go through a wormhole and meet a few oddities there, like another Earth with a hotel and a strange planet where most of it is made out of food. And you must read on to see how Danny’s experience comes together while traveling through the dangers and mystification of outer space.

About the Author

David T. Lee was born in Massachusetts, United States. He has developed enormous passion in reading, writing, drawing and learning music since he was five. His interests in reading include history, biographies, fictions and encyclopedias.

In the August of 2011, David published this first book Danny and the Portal of the World through Createspace. He was a seven year-old second grade student when he authored and illustrated the book. He received great feedback from book authors, school principals and library staffs.

His book is on sale in both paperback and Kindle versions on Amazon.com and Barnesandnoble.com. Several public libraries in Massachusetts also carry his book for circulation.

Currently, David maintains his author blog “Books R Fun” (located at http://booksrfun.infomages.com/) to inspire young children to read and write more often. All 12 chapters of Danny and the Portal of the World are on TTS (Text-to-Speech) and MP3 formats for public sharing. They can be downloaded for free through his blog or YouTube.

As a young author, he was invited to demonstrate his book writing process to local communities during the Geek the Library and Literacy Night events.

In the May of 2012, David sent President Barack Obama a signed copy of his first book Danny and the Portal of the World as a gift. A month later, he received an appreciation note from the White House signed by the President. The note was a surprise to David and his response was, “It means a lot to me.”

In the June of 2012, David finished composing his 1st piano music “The Nature Symphony” and performed the piece in front of the audience during his first annual recital.

Danny and the Trip to Outer Space is his second book and is the sequel of Danny and the Portal of the World. Currently, David is working on his 3rd book, Danny and the Invasion of the Dinosaurs.

This is what David says about his 3rd book:

“Danny and the Invasion of the Dinosaurs is coming to theaters in March 2013 (just kidding!), directed by Steven Spielberg and Michael Bay, and produced by Peter Jackson (still kidding!)”
