Like most young adults, Marcus Baker’s expectations of his life have fallen short. Since graduating from college, he has been directionless, insecure, and living without purpose or passion. In time, the pressure overwhelms him and he decides to end his own life during the summer before his 26th birthday. Until then, he searches for a meaningful accomplishment to justify his brief existence and finds his opportunity when he learns that a local child has gone missing. With the support of the child’s grieving mother, he launches his own investigation into the girl’s disappearance, never knowing if finding her will be the answer he yearns for, or the mistake that will ultimately punctuate his short and inconsequential life.
