I was looking at the threads and they seem really negative. We spend so much time being arthousey and meh, but 2016 can't be all bad.

So what are you excited for? There's got to be something that's got you waiting on the edge of your seat.

What no love for DC? Don't tell me, the lack of Heath Ledger counted against suicide squad.

The next Game of Thrones book to finally get released.

More the lack of Paul Dini and Bruce Timm. Without the right writer a film is nothing.

And they forgot the Joker rule: if he is onscreen and you're not laughing - whatever he is doing- you're doing it wrong.

A book. The sequel to Dinosaur Lake. So cheesy, but so addictive... I will hang up my reviewer's hat in shame.

So I wasn't the only one then (borrow the kindle when you've finished?)

Sorry Jessica, but we're closing the proboards. I've migrated this, but please don't start new threads there.

And yes, Dinosaur Lake is a really guilty pleasure. So bad, but so, so, good...

I think so far 2016 has me rather hoping nothing else bad is going to happen, but the Captain America Civil War movie looks entertaining, and I suspect I'll be dragged off to see Deadpool which should be entertaining.

I can't lie. I'm looking forward to Pancakes.

The Pancakes lived up to expectations. I might go and see the Eddie the Eagle movie next. I don't expect accuracy, but it may be entertaining. (I just hope they don't go with a generic evil committee for him to overcome, since the truth is much funnier. The Olympic Commission were terrified he'd kill himself making the jump, which was why they were desperate to stop him.)

Eddie the Eagle does look interesting.

Tregaron, it is probably too much to hope they'll have the sinister and cold blooded Olympic Committee turning him down right up until the door closes...and then they panic because he's going to get himself killed. Discussions about whether stealing his skis is ethical if it stops him breaking his neck, or should they play dirty and try calling his mother? (Funnier and possibly truer to history than what they'll show, as well.)

Eddie The Eagle is one of those stories that is just begging to be made into a film. A film in which people would have a hard time believing it was real, if it hadn't already happened.

I'm looking forward to the British version of Cool Runnings.
