Since some of the books I have read recently might interest some of the posters here, I thought it might be worth starting a thread for them.

porridge, as a fan of Rankin, may I suggest the Sisters of Kirley? With everything from excommunicated nuns to the llama mafia it is definitely in that vein. I personally prefer Pratchett and Robert Aspirin, but it might be well be up your street.

Pipsqueak, if you are looking for horror, I'd suggest Skinwalker: A Western Horror Novel which I've just finished. It is a Western horror, deliberately vague about the paranormal which works very well, and for once doesn't underestimate guns. (It strongly reminded me of Vargr Moon by Bernard King, which is one reason why I'm having trouble writing the review.)
