"Who owns the Rights?" is a new regular feature we're running covering the issue of who owns the rights to famous literary estates and authors' works, and allowing board members to investigate. Given how hard it can be to track owners, we make no guarantee we will find them. Alfred Bester was a giant in the science fiction field, who also wrote for television. His influence on these fields cannot be understated: he won the ingural Hugo award and was named one of the SFWA's Grand Masters of science fiction. His best known works include the Demolished Man and The Stars my Destination. His list of titles, including books like the Computer Connection, is far too long to list here. He died in 1987, with two further works published posthumously. So who owns the rights?
