An Orphan’s Rapbook is a collection of 15 rap-poems written in the persona of an orphan. Straight from an orphan’s heart, these poems revolve around the themes of friendship, family and justice, and are bound to take their readers on an unforgettable journey through the emotional turmoil of a young orphan’s mind.

100% Author royalties will be donated to Save the Children India, India’s leading independent child rights NGO.

An extract from the poems-

THIS RAPPER
One day came this rapper
He said he wanted to make a song
I told him his face looks like Wong
He said nothing, he just smiled
I said what you laughing at
He said actually, you are right
Though your words do bite
I told him go fly a kite
In the orphanage it’s always night
You know nothing about our plight

He said he wasn’t an orphan
But he could imagine the sting, the bite
I told him to turn on the light
I told him to look into my eyes
I told him to find the story of my life
He said all of it is rife and strife
And that he couldn’t make it right
But together, we have a lot of might
But together, we could win this fight
Against the world itself, alright

Just take up the pen
And let your thoughts run
On the paper
As fast as a wheel spun
Tell them the story of your life
To reach the masses and cut through them like a knife
