Ryanair too cheap for wheelchairs?

Saw this article and my jaw dropped. I checked on Twitter which has gone boom!

To summarise the article:
Wheelchair user arrives for Ryanair Flight.
Is asked if she can walk up the stairs.
When she can't, the captain closes the door and the plane takes off without her.
She has to threaten a lawsuit to get on a later plane.

In what way shape or form is this appropriate? If the story is as she says, I sincerely hope she sues the hell out of them!

 

May I just say, I sincerely hope she sues them into the ground.

 

It's Ryanair - I'd expect them to count the wheelchair as excess luggage

 

This is sadly not Ryanair's first issue of the type, and in the last case they have stated that leaving passengers who cannot get on the flight is policy. At least they are no longer charging wheelchair users for the priviledge of using wheelchairs...
