Heh, you can tell its a parody - Sean Bean is still alive.

Hold on, how old is he? - *checking* - cool, he's only 56.

Now, Donald Trump on the other hand...

That sentence is amazing. The grammar is so bad, but the meaning is quite clear. If Tom Baker's next I'll break out the cricket bat.

    Could 2016 just bloody stop?

Harper Lee, Umberto Eco, and this morning Paul Daniels was diagnosed with a brain tumour.

Seriously, eventually all the memorial threads begin to feel ghoulish because there's so very many of them, but combining them seems disrespectful. It is only the end of Feb 2016, but the world feels a so much smaller place than it did at the end of 2015.

Yeah, I was having the same thoughts as well.

    Reader Reviews George R.R.Martin's 2016

So far the plot has meandered. Character deaths come senselessly and out of nowhere, resulting in an unpredictability that simply makes it hard to form any steady platform to build a story upon. It has too many swerves, with far too many developed and active characters removed while they were still making great contributions, which results in a feeling of disorientation and an inability for the reader to find an anchor to examine the plot in detail. The world of 2016 is a world of upheaval, but the author quite fails to deliver up-and-coming cast members who can replace the titans he removes.

The result is a feeling that this world becomes less as we read further, with any attempt at world building brutally cut off. 2016 is a hollow read, and one that this reader struggles with and has so far failed to complete.

    1 star.

(I do apologise. Sometimes dark humour seems the only acceptable response).
