RIP: Leonard Cohen

    It's been the year for it.

    One of the more profound and well-known influences on music has finally left us.

    But to call him only a musician would be to do him an injustice for the reams of written works and prose he left behind.

    Looks like he saw which way the world was turning and decided enough is enough.

    Another one who will be missed.

    He's been seeing the way to world is turning since I was a child. He will be much missed.
     
  3. We always discover so much about a celebrity after they die. I'm always amazed at how multi-talented many of them are.

    Makes me wonder if in 50 years time there will be the same outpouring of grief when those celebrities die.

    They just don't seem to have the same depths these ones do...

    They don't last as long, and there's more turnover and more channels. If any of the current crop last sixty years in music, then they'll probably have the same mourning and sense of loss.
