The Great McAlister Chance; The most famous adventurer in history and his oldest friend, Dr. Winthrop Corbyn, embark on an adventure par excellence to the Valley of the Kings. They escape from the Express rattler and make their way to the workshop of their old friend, Sheldon McDermott, who has created a machine he calls a Steamthopter. To ensure the safety of innocents, the three ensure their unseen enemies know they are not traveling by boat as originally planned and take off in the flying machine.Upon arriving in Cairo, they are joined by Professor Zadie Stanhope, the only woman to ever turn the head of the Great McAlister Chance. They are anxious to talk about the discovery and the tablet found outside the door, but before heading into the desert, Dr. Corbyn retrieves his weapon of choice, an elephant gun, to help protect his friends from the god, Anubis.The crew finally opens the tomb and a hole opens up in the huge stone slab in the floor. A giant, Anubian warrior standing more than fifteen feet tall and shooting green lightning from its arm attacks them and blows the top off the tomb. Other Anubian warriors follow and head across the desert to take over the world. The crew has to find a way to stop them. Chance and Dr. Corbyn set out to disable one and learn how it works, but the Great McAlister Chance is lost into the void from which the beasts have come.Dr. Corbyn, in the midst of the unmistakable pungency of gear oil and gunpowder, must take over his friend’s role as leader and find a way to stop the onslaught. He shoots a crate of dynamite and blows up the stone powering the metal monsters, but he is engulfed in the black flame from the explosion. Come along on the adventure of a lifetime… or perhaps more.
