Though their fame became legend, a rumor cropped up about the Fulmer family: Something terrifying stalked Caitlin and her beloved Trevor. Something the bits and pieces she left claimed she had to make sense of. When the curator of their collection finds Caitlin’s long forgotten diary, she wonders will it tell the whole tale? Will it tell why Caitlin seemed so determined to tell the difference between reality and nightmare? Why she thought herself a witch?
What will the holidays hold for Caitlin? Perhaps the answer lies between the lines of her story, one of lessons, struggles, and hopes for each new year.
Includes samples of The Artist’s Inheritance, Antique Magic Book One, and the second volume, Drawing Down the Shades. **This is a side (or supplemental, if you will) story in the Antique Magic Series. Book 3 is forthcoming.
"Supernatural and paranormal fiction fans might want this to check the author's writing style or world, but be aware this is an incomplete sampler, not a full story. (The reason for the low rating) "
Reviewer: Reader for Bookangel.
An unusual story which is told in two parts, one fifty years ahead of the other. In 2063, Abigail is packing up her grandmother, Caitlin's, things, and finds a handwritten manuscript. Caitlin is a Celtic pagan witch, and in 2013 she and her husband are dealing with a haunting and a spectacularly nasty imp.
The characters are good, the plot intriguing and the grammar and writing are of a high standard. And to my annoyance, after over a hundred pages it ends abruptly with the plot unresolved, the words: "Thank you for picking up this sampler", and none of the background explained. The fact it isn't a complete story is not mentioned in the blurb.
It gets a two. As a free addition to a series it might get a three, but even so it does not have a complete plot which would knock it back down. You can't tell how well an author develops plot or writes endings from a book that has neither.
