A heart on fire is a pen on fire!
We’ve all been there – stuck – staring at the blank page with no hope in sight and overpowered by the demon we call writer’s block.
Isn’t it funny how many epic stories and mind-blowing twists come to your mind when you are away from your computer? You see the oddest couple engaging in a local coffee shop and your mind is instantly flooding with possibilities for the next best romance story, but rather than having the opportunity to capture the beauty of plot in that moment, you’re laden with your boss’s already too-room-temperature frappe, your massive disheveled computer case stuffed with incomplete project files (which you’d swear has the reproduction life of a Belgian Hare) and a cell phone that simply won’t shut up. You sigh, knowing that by the time you make it to your writing desk – long after dinner and kiddie-cuddle time – you’ll be doing good to remember how to even construct a simple sentence – let alone a captivating story plot.
If you’re any kind of writer at all, you’ve been there and likely camped there longer than you wish. Nonetheless – this is proof you are a writer! Yes, you should feel validated by that fact and rest in the knowledge that you know you are actually a very gifted one at that.
You just need a jolt in the old writer’s seat to get the fire going from time to time. This eBook is brimming to the rim (pun intended) with just such jolting fuel to get your wonderful, best-seller blood pumping again – just like that faithful shot of espresso that so powerfully jumpstarts you in the morning transforming you into the fascinating, fun-filled person your co-workers adore!
I have created these writing prompts much differently than the deathly popular ones you will generally find; These writing prompts are designed not only to get you writing, but also envisioning scenes and characters, as well as engaging your emotional senses that we all know is the real thing that keeps your writers coming back for more. I’ve even thrown in opportunity to invest in the soul of your characters. Hey, why not do a little soul work on yourself in the process?!
If you’re ready to get that writer’s blood pumping, simply flip to any page, study the image, read the prompt and answer the interactive questions. If the image is enough to light your fire – go for it!
If the story line takes you immediately into your next plot twist, ignore the questions.
But if after studying the image and allowing several moments for it to draw you into the scene, you find that you’re still stuck, then pull up a blank page and start writing simply by answering the thought provoking questions.
Remember, allow your heart to take over and follow it where it leads and you will find writer’s block banished from your worthy writer’s kingdom forever!
