You?re about to discover how to Conquer your Fears
Before you can determine whether you are actually anxious, whether it?s about a life situation or a genuine phobia, you have to know if you are actually anxious. The signs and symptoms of anxiety and being a phobia sufferer tend to be very similar, for example.
One such problem that people can suffer from is not knowing that they suffer from a phobia in the first place. This can make them indirectly anxious, not knowing why they are actually nervous or so worried in the first place. To help get around this problem, then, you can typically define a phobia as an intense fear, one that typically would pose us little to no danger if it occurs.
Since many phobias are built around regularly occurring events, it becomes very easy ? too easy ? to get trapped in total anxiety over the idea of the phobia taking place. For example, people who suffer from arachnophobia can find themselves unsure about taking on just about any task in the summer, through fear of coming into contact with their arachnid friends.
At the same time, people who are afraid of heights are not likely to challenge themselves or go to look at new, expansive views. A phobia can very quickly turn to anxious thinking, where the phobia takes precedence over so many other issues. Before long, you can find yourself acting anxiously all the time, because the fear of the phobia just becomes your primary thought process.
The problem is that many people just don?t know what actually causes anxiety or phobias in themselves. Phobias can be caused by a single event that we can look back upon, a particular group of minor events that led to a major break, or just a mixture of emotions and experiences that cannot be truly explained.
For many, the idea and reason why they are so worried about something can vary quite massively. Some phobias, such as, for example, social phobias or agoraphobia, can be caused by events that we can never truly work out or understand. Some experts believe that it might be a genetic event. Others believe that subconscious life experiences eventually group together to ?decide? that you now fear this particular event.
Anxiety can be quite similar. Many people don?t know why they suffer from anxiety; they can never quite put the finger on the moment it all started. Others know that it?s down to the actions of X or the words of Y that has put them in this position.
Anxiety, much like phobias, can be increasingly simple to work out or it can be a mystery never to be solved. At that point, it can be hard to tell if you are just overplaying the situation or if you do have a genuine anxiety or fear.
That can take a lot of work, and even then there is no definitive test that you can take. What does usually determine your phobias or anxieties reality, though, is the presence of symptoms and signs.
