On the frozen moon of Callisto, ruined settlements lie abandoned to the pitiless vacuum of space. War has destroyed civilization and raiders now roam the wastes, looting and taking slaves.

Shakespeare Cruz is one of the survivors, hiding underground with his adopted daughter and the other refugees. He tells her stories of more peaceful times, and of how much her mother loved to dance. What he has not told her is who her father really was, what he did and why her mother had to die. He’s also failed to disclose his own part in that tragic tale.

In the lawless, stricken city of Cielo, a gang boss remains determined to find Cruz and get his daughter back. An uneasy truce has brought peace to the city, but armed gangs remain on the streets, facing each other across the rubble barricades. It will only take one spark to reignite a brutal conflict, and Shakespeare Cruz may well be it.

When Shakespeare’s dark past comes knocking on his door, he must embark on a savage quest to protect the child and settle his own score. But he will also learn a bitter truth about himself and the woman he loved, and he may end up destroying everything he is trying to save.
