"A wonderful little bedtime story for younger children who won't go to sleep, let down a little by formatting issues that can obscure text."

Curly the Caterpillar wants to stay up all night to count the stars with his friends. Everyone else is sleepy, and after Curly starts counting stars he gets sleepy too.
This is a sweet little children's story, with text over full colour pictures.
This ebook is unusual, because in two page layout it goes into a wide landscape format, perhaps a double-page spread in a board book. This is definitely the best way to view it, while in single-page text will only appear on every-other page.
Every page is beautifully illustrated in full colour, with text on a white background space worked in as part of it. For once the text is coloured to match the pictures and worked into it, making sense for it to be unable to enlarge.
Like many other children's books, the pages go to fit the window automatically, which means in this case the bottom and top of the picture are covered when the title bar and navigation footer appear. Very Unfortunately, this means of several pages, the top or bottom line of text are obscured on the Cloud Reader, although this may not happen on a larger screen
The text is in four line sections, for once not poetry. The language is simple, the spelling is fine, and the story? The story is exactly what bedtime needs for sleepy children, I type as I yawn.
I enjoyed this thoroughly, after a coffee or two to wake myself up.
I would recommend this to parents who want a bedtime story for their younger children. This is especially true if they have a child who wants to stay up, or isn't sleepy. It is just such a shame about the formatting.Rating: 4Quicklink to this review
