Elementary Language Arts for Upper Primary is a compilation of Reading Comprehension passages as well as Writing Composition topics. Students are given the opportunity to develop their comprehension skills in addition to building their writing skills.
The book is divided into two sections, Reading Comprehension and Writing Skills. In the Reading Comprehension section, students are given a series of questions based on a passage to test their understanding of the content. The passages are predominantly based on Bahamian topics and experiences. This gives children around the world an opportunity to experience Bahamian culture while learning.
In the Writing Skills section students are given a selection of topics and asked to develop a composition based on a specific writing style.
This book was inspired by the Language portion of the Grade Level Assessment Test. It is specifically designed for students at grade levels 5 thru 8.
