Goldiloks and Three Pink Shrimps has been inspired by a fairy tale Pepin was told as a child: ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’. This was a fairy tale in which Goldilocks a young girl enters the house of three bears (the bears being Papa bear, Mother bear and Baby bear) and tries out the furniture, eats the porridge and goes to sleep in the Baby bear’s bed. The bears return home and each asks the same three questions. The fun in the story at the time was to mimic the three bears’ questions in suitable voices. Pepin has since forgotten how the story ended.

In Pepin’s story the four main characters are: Goldiloks, a mermaid. Papa Alfa, a pink shrimp. Papa Beatha, (pronounced without the ‘h ‘) also a pink shrimp and Youngstirred a pink shrimp with perhaps a touch of grey.

This story is part of the entertaining, pleasant, terrible and surprising series of Cappuccino Fiction written by Pepin.

The term Cappuccino Fiction is used by Pepin to denote a story of any genre of between several hundred to a few thousand words. In this case around three thousand words.
