David Thomasson is a famous televangelist and the presiding pastor at a megachurch in Charlotte, North Carolina. As a wealth gospel preacher, he proclaims, “In God He trust,” although something more sinister, darker, and more evil seems to consume his “Christian” agenda.

David Thomasson professes to himself that what the congregation doesn’t know surely couldn’t hurt them. But when the battles between preaching the word of God and living a full lifestyle of atheism ensue, his handsome and charismatic charm won’t be enough for the real battles he will have to face.

A first class fraud, David Thomasson profits off his congregations’ fears and the millions of individuals who tune into his sermons every week on television and radio. To achieve his agenda outside of his church, he uses his ‘rockstar’ like status to blackmail, humiliate, and oppress people at will.

It seems that his own judgment day duly arrives the moment David is visited by Rico, a mysterious guest. Upon meeting Rico, David’s life is rapidly turned upside down, as he is forced to tell everybody the last thing he’s ever wanted them to know: the truth.

With a knockout of a wife, two loving children, a deluxe Lake Norman mansion, a fortune in offshore bank accounts, and more ladies throwing themselves at him than at the pope, changes and resolutions are the last things David is seeking as the new year rolls in.

There are also other pitfalls he must avoid: his mentor, the Reverend Langston (who has hired a hitman to dispose of David), two drug dealers, and a ghost haunting Lake Norman.

In the end, David realizes he is locked in a battle royal with himself and the truth, especially since his reputation, not to mention millions of dollars, are at stake.

“He of Little Faith” is a novel that uses black humor in its most graphic detail to show Christianity—and its searing hypocrisy—at its worst.
