Hello. I am Darrell Campbell, CEO of the Turtle Airships company. I wrote this book as a way to introduce people to something truly new and exciting.
The “turtle” airship design is based on fully proven technologies.
The Turtle Airship is not a blimp. It is not a zeppelin.
Instead, it is a modern airship with a completely rigid hull; it is made of aluminum and carbon fiber; which gives it a hard shell. Hence the “turtle airship” name. This is not a new idea…..the ZMC-2 airship was made entirely out of aluminum, in 1928, and flew successfully for 12 years. All we have done is make it better! Stronger! Faster! and Safer.
And then we added something fantastic…we added the idea that our Turtle Airships would be able to fly using Solar Power. You see, airplanes just don’t have enough room for all the solar cells needed to do the job. But airships are huge….
