Oliver Free is a successful writer, a renowned master of the horror genre. He is famous, wealthy and respected, but he is also an alcoholic and a drug addict. His life has spiralled out of control. His wife left him, he barely leaves the house anymore, and now the world knows about his vices.
To save Oliver’s career, his agent hatches a plan. Oliver is to stay in an isolated cabin in the middle of nowhere, camped out in the North American wilderness. He won’t have any access to the drugs that have kept him sedated for so long, won’t have any contact with the world he avoided. It’s his job to write a blog, keep the public updated on his struggles as he tries to overcome withdrawal and get his life back on track, but as his mind and body weakens and succumbs to the disease of withdrawal, Oliver realises he isn’t alone. Something else is lurking in the woods and whatever it is, it seems to be very interested in him.
