CINDERELLA STYLE LOVE STORY – Beautiful Ipatia, orphaned at a young age, lives with her grandfather on the idyllic Greek island of Lipsi, where she follows the traditions of the Greek islanders. However, there is one tradition that she is determined to defy, and that is marriage. Her love for reading books has influenced her into wanting to go to college to become a microbiologist. With her grandfather’s blessing, she leaves for Piraeus, where she will live with her aunt while attending university.

Ipatia’s carefully laid out plans go awry: just before her trip, she’s rescued from a snake by handsome Tony, a Greek tycoon’s son; her aunt is nowhere to be found in Piraeus; and the university doesn’t even offer her degree. To make matters worse, she falls in love with Tony.

Will Ipatia’s determination in getting her college degree get in the way of her happiness, and will Tony’s single-minded determination to keep Ipatia in his life, against his father’s wishes, be achieved? Tony’s life-threatening accident threatens all that he has strived for. Will love win the day?

Excerpt

“Well, how did I do, maestro?” he asked huskily, his hands resting on the keyboard.
He gazed at her with an amused look, his half-closed eyes hiding his true feelings.

She stood up shakily, leaning against the wall. He was too close for comfort. Breaking the spell, she said impulsively, “You did very well except for the middle section. You need to practice it more often. It needs to flow, like ripples in the sea. My music teacher used to say that to me, for that is the most difficult passage in the piece.”

He stood up, leaning towards her.

Ipatia tensed, for there was nowhere to go. He was blocking her path.

“It seems to me the most difficult passage has still to be lived,” he whispered, before planting a kiss on her lips. He lingered slightly, before moving back, enjoying it. You can’t run away from me this time, my Ipatia, he thought.

She was caught off guard from the kiss. It was tender and soft, not demanding. It actually felt pleasant. But it was not right! What am I to do now? She thought.

“Why did you do that?” she managed to whisper, after she came back to earth.

He paused for a moment, battling with the idea of telling her the truth, that she was beautiful, naive, innocent, and adorable. That he wanted to kiss her from the very first moment, under the tree, when he held her close in his arms.
