Hunter Alleen, a thirty-three year old, is leaving everything behind for a space adventure. His friends, his home, and Earth.
He’s heading to Mars. A one way trip that will take him and four other astronauts seven months to complete. This includes Melissa Cacelio, a twenty-nine year old biology teacher. (He likes her beautiful smile). The trip is one way — there is no turning back. Some on Earth think that the forty billion dollar trip will end up as space horror. Others have no doubt that it’ll be a success; food for humanity’s soul; they believe space colonization is the next big thing.
All Hunter cares about is leaving everything behind including a tragic past he doesn’t want to talk about. Space exploration has always been his passion. He is ready to sacrifice everything to complete it. His mission is simple: make it to Mars and scoop a hand full of red soil.
Despite his optimism, he soon learns that space disaster is very real and that a lot can go wrong in seven months. And when the doors can’t be opened — you just have to hope and pray.
