It can also be acquired during a procedure performed during the hospital stay. The causes are different from those of CAP as well as its microbiology, treatment and prognosis.
Lobar Pneumonia
Lobar Pneumonia involves a single lobe or a single section of a lung, usually on the upper respiratory system. The leading cause of lobar pneumonia is Streptococcus pneumonia. There have been cases that it can also be caused by Klebsiella pneumonia.
Bronchial Pneumonia
This type of pneumonia is caused by Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiella, E. coli, and Pseudomonas, which are a different strain of bacteria. Bronchial pneumonia affects the bronchi and the lungs.
