“The Island is a place where strange breeds…”
Analise Baxter is a young, aspiring investigative journalist from Teerwood, Maine. As a child, she was torn from her coastal hometown and relocated to Arkansas at the hands of her cold, disciplinarian father. Her life since then, many states away, has been dull. Twenty-four years later, Ana has decided to make her dream of returning home a reality.
Secrets stemming from the town’s colonial birth remain buried and cast across the sea. With rumors of a dangerous, lurking society running the three islands off the mainland, Ana sets her heart on either uncovering the whispered secrets or debunking the town gossip. Not even a day into her sporadic return, a strange act of vandalism at an abandoned shop reels Ana into a hidden world of blackmail, cover-ups, and recurring “accidents”. The spunky journalist is reluctantly joined by a few; two uneasy childhood friends at the Teerwood Police Department, a quirky sailor, the town’s cranky lumberjack, and Ana’s late mother’s oldest confidantes.
