Simply being here is a gift, a present of tremendous proportions. Each of us experiences many things in our lives, both happy and sad, joyful and tragic. It’s not the experiences that define us, of course, but our responses to them. After losing all of my family to cancers and Alzheimer’s Disease, and nearly losing both my sons, I’ve come to realize the lessons given us are the wrappings of the most incredible gift any of us could ever imagine, that of life.
