On medical leave for a year after a mental breakdown from the squad he was once hand-picked to lead, ex-homicide detective Frank Langer stumbles on a conspiracy to kidnap and murder children. When he shows up at the squad with his wild story, his former colleagues pat him on the back and tell him to go home.
Undaunted, he digs deeper into the mystery, joined by Rebecca, the aunt of one of the missing children. She tries to help Frank confront the horrific event that led to his breakdown. When he finally connects the pieces, the answer is more deadly than he ever imagined, and telling Rebecca would put her life in danger. Soon even she comes to question his sanity.
