Alice has been left the Old Rectory by her Aunt Ruth. She’d loved spending her childhood summers in the large old house with its woodland and a secret path to the beach. These were happy times and the place held many good memories. Now the house looked tired, the garden was overgrown and the path to the beach was almost impassable.
Her parents are determined she should sell the house and concentrate her energies on her job in London, a job that doesn’t bring her any joy. Alice has other plans, she intends to keep the house but has no idea what to do with it.
A chance meeting with local handyman Seb gives her an idea – turn the Old Rectory into a cookery school. But first she has to convince Seb to help her and he is less that keen.
