When the water finally receded, I dropped on the ground, I laid there in the mud for several minutes. I was in extreme pain; I was so tired that my body refused to function. My head spun around in a tizzy of noises – sharp spine chilling cries and endless calls for help.

The Himalayan Tsunami is a harrowing tale of survival in the aftermath of Kedarnath tragedy. A young American woman in search of her estranged brother finds herself trapped in the Kedar region. Far away from home in an unknown, unforgiving terrain, with no food and wild animals abound, will she be able to escape unharmed and importantly will she be able to find his brother, alive?

Note: Survival fiction at its finest, inspired by true stories, it is difficult to put the book The Himalayan Tsunami into a bracket; particularly so as the book is unlike any typical boy-meets-girl Indian fiction, nor it is yet another love story masquerading as Historical fiction.

As the author is new to the scene*, it is best to read the book and form your opinion.

*but not a new Indian writer, he runs a successful travel blog
