The Mindjack Crew: A sexed-up paranormal crime thriller. Book Two in The Psychic Registry.
A trio of drugged-up psychics on a devious crime spree. From afar they seize complete control of their victims, forcing them to commit their crimes, making every heist an inside job. And the only real clues they leave behind are the intoxicated, troubled, and confounded memories of their victims.
The police call upon the city’s most renowned psychic, Nathan Miller, a hardboiled ex-cop turned highly successful private investigator. Professionally, he’s decisive and relentless. Personally, he’s a notorious lothario, a genuine tough guy, and a bit of a rogue. Detective Susan Archer, a familiar friend and foul-mouthed ally, returns to assist him on the case.
However, their rapport is threatened by newcomer, Avril Rosen, a psychic cop from Internal Affairs, who harbors a grudge against Miller… among other secrets. Helping to catch the Mindjackers would significantly boost Avril’s career, yet she seems almost as interested in digging up dirt from Miller’s history… or getting him into bed. Thus, Nathan must guard a dark and harrowed past against Avril’s agenda of intrigue and deceit.
Meanwhile, the Mindjackers reap a path of destruction and descend unchecked into addiction, madness, and strife. And Nathan and Avril are the only people who can stop them. But the only thing they can trust is that they can’t trust each other.
***Contains mature content: f-bombing cops, disturbing crimes, unabashedly racy women, and the men that they lust after. Consider yourself warned/enticed.***
Length: approximately 62,500 words (Seriously awesome value!)
Author’s note: I’ve never had more fun writing a book about a psychic detective than with this one, which is quite the feat considering how much I enjoyed writing the first book. My goals for Book Two were simple: More sex! More violence! More psychic weirdness! In short, more Nathan Miller. Topping Book One was no easy task, but I think I’ve done it. This is a different story from Rock Star Down, which was lighter in tone and simpler in scope. The Mindjack Crew is a much darker and complex companion. Here we begin our descent into the deep waters of Nathan Miller and The Psychic Registry. Enjoy!
Each book in the series is a complete tale and they can be enjoyed in any order, although there will be some spoilers.
