The Voids of Discovery is the prequel to ‘The Apprentice of Fyordorn’ and its sequel ‘The Grain of Truth.’ It becomes the first of a three book series.

The discovery of voids to other worlds by magicians of Sarros and Altim sees the beginning of a joint venture to observe and when the time is right make contact. But one discovery is destined to be too much of a temptation for the Grand Master of Altim. They find the grain of truth, a speck of sand said to contain the knowledge of all the known worlds. The power such knowledge could bestow is something he cannot resist. But a binding magical protocol with the Grand Master of Sarros stands in his way. To succeed in his determination to find the magic that protects the grain, his intentions must be hidden under a cloak of deception. With the fate of newly discovered worlds of little concern, he sets in motion a train of events that sets country against country in bloody conflict, magician against magician and finally friend against friend.

The nymph circled the rock table. Her reply did not reflect the severity of the concern being expressed. ‘But the knowledge is perfectly safe. Not only are we the only ones who can travel between worlds, but you know I have used the magic from each I have visited to create a layer of magical protection. I hear your concern king of the Vistral, but it is misplaced.’
There was resignation in the Vistral’s reply. ‘I can see you will not be dissuaded from the path you have chosen and have no power to impose such a change on you. So for now, goodbye Giana and we wish you well. However I leave you with one last thought. The grain of truth might well be safe for the moment, but the magic of other worlds will evolve and in time the voids will be discovered. If and when that occurs there will be a new order of things.’
