It has been about 3 years since the original release of Toni’s Blues, but the heart breaking, soul shattering emotions of every word I wrote lingers as if they were just written yesterday. Falling in love is easy for Toni, but the men she fell in love with did not deserve her love. She was always choosing the wrong men, quickly handing over her heart, welcoming them into her home and into her world, the world of music. As I wrote this story the lines between my life and Toni’s world at times become blurred and I would pause with my fingers hovering over the keys of my laptop. You see I am Toni just like so many other women, but I got out, I survived.
I worked soulfully with purpose and intent to create a Special Revised Edition of Toni’s Blues for the readers. Not only has the text been revised, but those who have read the original will also notice just a few changes in the story. A new book cover and new video have been created to celebrate a book that was at times been painful to write, but it also gave me much joy because I believed that I was showing others who had suffered and experienced the horrors of Domestic Violence to hang on and have hope and a renewed faith.
Love is on the way. But while you wait for the right man to love you the way you deserve to be loved never forget that God loves you like no one ever could. That is what Toni’s Blues is about.
