A Cold Goodbye: Ned Fain Private Investigator, Book 1

...It's not just a good whodunit, it's a good whodunwhat and really good short story....

A modern day noir, with the hard boiled ex mil hero, a mysterious murder and the femme fatale who needs his aid – even though he knows she’s trouble. What can I say? It had me at ‘polar bear pit’.

This is a well-written, fast-paced, and enjoyable short novella packed full of memorable characters and it kept me guessing as to what was going on. The plot is believable, the presentation is good, and as a lover of the noir genre, I’d say this is a great example. Detective fans, noir readers, and crime lovers should give this a look – and the rest of the series, if the other stories are as strong as this. It’s not just a good whodunit, it’s a good whodunwhat and really good short story. I’ll be keeping an eye out for more in the series.
