...It might not have wide appeal outside its intended audience, but fans of the slasher genre should check this out....

A rock band trapped in their rehearsal room hear odd music from the room next door. Then they find an odd note left and hear the clack of hard-soled shoes on concrete…

Expect bad language, heavy bass and graphic violence. This is good old-fashioned slasher horror, with an unstoppable, unexplainable, monster and its terrified trapped victims. It hits most of the slasher tropes on the way through, but it does them well. The writing is clear, the action well-described and easy to follow, and the formating has no issues.

There really isn’t much else to say without spoiling it, but this book is definitely written in the style of the B-movies (and it would make a good one).

It might not have wide appeal, but fans of the slasher genre should check this out.

  • A Humourless Death
This is a fairly enjoyable tale, more like Tales of the Unexpected than a modern horror piece but worth it especially for anyone who enjoys a tale about the circus.
  • Whispers
A set of excellent short stories, from horror to supernatural, that are all worth reading.
  • The Trinket Box
The writing is excellent, conveying the horror of the situation, and the characters, thought briefly introduced, are conveyed well, each one playing a little extra role in the life of the elderly gentleman.
