Third in the Catherine Patterson Mystery series.
Yet more skulduggery to upset Catherine’s rural idyll!
The spotlight is put onto the lifestyle of Marie, a character introduced earlier in the series, when Catherine accepts her invitation to an upmarket family celebration at a chateau. The visit comes with the promise of a spot of ghost hunting but leads to them witnessing an attempted murder and discovering an unknown corpse floating in the river Charente.
Meanwhile, the guests from Catherine’s chambres d’hotes have been acting strangely from the outset with Catherine, once again, becoming unwittingly involved and in fear for her life.
Events conclude when Inspector Maupetit can’t ignore the evidence any longer and Karl, Catherine’s husband, gives law enforcement a helping hand.
Oh! – and did I mention the ghost?
