A man and his wife got lost at sea. It was just the two of them in the boat but the food supply was running low. In order to increase her chances of survival–to safe herself from possible starvation, and to subsequently reunite with her adulterous lover on land–this man’s (then) wife betrayed him and caused him to fall from the boat into the sea. As the man descended into the depths of the sea, he was swallowed up by a voracious beast of the sea. He spent several months in the belly of the beast–where his body was tortured and his mind was tormented. He lost everything–including his marriage. In the midst of his sorrows, he found a treasure map in the belly of the beast. As he studied this map, his heart grew strong. Then he called out to the Lord Jesus for help, and He heard him from His Holy Mountain.
The Lord rebuked the beast and commanded it to release the man: The beast vomited the man on land. Today, this man is safe, secured and restored in Christ. The Lord has blessed him with many treasures from the treasure mines that he saw on the map. Most importantly, the Lord blessed him with a new wife–his dearly beloved Chantal–who is the man’s greatest treasure on earth. To glorify the Lord in his life, this man wrote a book concerning the treasure map that he found in the belly of the beast. He named the book Joseph’s Treasure Mines–and dedicated it to his dearly beloved wife. Every day, this man would sing songs of thanksgiving to God–glorifying Him for saving his life, restoring and blessing him with a virtuous and excellent wife.
I am that man, and you are holding the book. I pray the Lord pours out the treasures of heaven into your life as you read this book and learn about the grace of God for you–in any situation you may find yourself in.
