My name’s Duen. I was born in Nakhon Ratchasima (Korat) in the Northeast (Isaan) of Thailand, hence the author name Duen Na Korat.
The diet of a typical Thai person living in the country was similar to the Paleolithic diet, the food we ate was the food that we cultivated and living foods that were around us, meat, fish and fowl, fruit and vegetables, nuts and seeds and definitely no processed foods. We never bought anything from the supermarket and we even made our own sugar from a plant and oil from pig’s fat for cooking.
I started cooking at 7 years old, my mom and grandmother taught me a lot of things about cooking and I didn’t know back then that it would become such a huge part of my life and business in the future. Now at the age of 36, I have my own restaurant and cooking school here in Krabi, I cook for parties and events, and now here I am writing my second cook book. Cooking is in my soul, I love it. I feel so happy when I cook and I see people enjoy my food.
I have written this cookbook for people that want to follow the Paleolithic diet but don’t want to miss out on great tasting Thai food or just want to spice up their diet.
