... A Bible study pamphlet, this would probably be useful to church groups. It's well-presented, nicely formatted and edited and would work as a good starting point for discussion....
I saw the cover. I thought light reading. I saw the description. I cringed, thinking PLR. Fortunately it isn’t, although I’d have appreciated knowing this was a Christian tract before I picked it up. “The year of 2016 was one of the hardest of my life.” was one of the first sentences, and what kept me reading and I am sure many other readers will relate. However this is actually a Bible study tract rather than a full Christian testimonial, complete with study questions.
I am uncertain whether this was based on the views of a particular group of Christians e.g. Baptist or Born-again, which may conflict with the views of other Protestant groups. While I won’t go into them all there are a few issues, e.g. loc 85 covering marriage, divorce, and adultery mentions Matthew but not 1 Corinthians 7:15: “But if the unbelieving partner separates, let it be so. In such cases the brother or sister is not enslaved”.
As a study guide, this would probably be useful to church groups. It’s well-presented, nicely formatted and edited and would work as a good talking point even if the particular group did not agree with all interpretations. It will have very limited interest to others however.
