When the court wizard casts a spell to “improve” the Princess’ kitten Thaddeus, it goes wrong. The poor kitten finds himself being removed from court and sent away with a spell on him to stop him finding his way home. Such spells are nothing to a determined cat and escaping his captor Thaddeus sets off on a journey that takes him to a dragon’s cave, an encounter with the King of Rats and he hopes, will lead back to his princess.

Echoing fairytales, this lively, enjoyable, story is one children will love whether it is read by them or to them. There is enough here to keep a parent entertained for family reading or as a bedtime story over several nights. There are no formatting issues or other presentation problems marring the book, and while this isn’t a picture book, one nice touch is the black and white sketches scattered through the book. Fast moving, amusing and internally consistant, this is a good children’s fantasy read for kindle.
