This is well above the standard of most short non-fiction on Amazon: It quotes sources, provides links and even references Arthur C. Clarke.
Ranging from analog computers and earthquake detectors to gunpowder and greek fire, these pieces are well researched, well cited, and interesting to read. The articles are illustrated with full colour photographs, which make this book a very useful reference even for people already familiar with the topics.
It's short but interesting, and there are no problems with the English or the presentation. While it is a quick read, at half an hour maximum, this is also an enjoyable one filled with trivia, titbits, and links for resources if you want to find out more.
