Discovered in an eagle’s eyrie, two scrolls supposedly chronicling the Blood Eagle’s directions to the Eternal Fires reached a charismatic young priest with radical ideas. Two decades later, the priest’s army, led by the knights of the Order of the Blood Eagle, have slaughtered thousands of men, women, and children in the name the priest’s new faith.
Enter Eramus Pon, a vagabond who has spent the last five years earning a comfortable living with his sword, choosing safe jobs that won’t bind him to lords or lands. When he stops in the Barony of Medar to visit a friend and stands up to occupying soldiers assaulting a defenseless woman, Sir Jacob, a knight of the Order of the Blood Eagle, takes his friend’s family hostage and forces Eramus to recover the baron’s missing children.
