South of the lush green plains of Eifera lays the desert wastes. Here, life is hard. Sparse outposts focus on mining material for the North and trading towns, succumbing to the drifting sands from the Sand Sea. Few escape the difficulties here, beaten by the brutality of toil and heat.
Those who commit themselves to this existence have few reasons to celebrate, or enjoy their lives, that is until the Gamblers Den rolls into town.
Led by the charismatic showman Franco, The Gamblers Den is a seven carriage strong train that speeds through the wilderness to provide entertainment to the lucky ones it visits. With showgirls, a multitude of games and fine drink, a visit from the Den brings hope to the downtrodden – provided you can pay the price.
Yet the Den has its own agenda. Franco’s costs are sharply rising and the recent stowaway on board, Wyld, has enticed him with tales of treasure and relics. The temptation to take a detour and aid her in acquiring these items is great and it’s only Misu, the longest serving showgirl on board, convincing him to stop chasing fantasies.
But out here, the law has to be hard to enforce itself, and Franco is about to find one of his passengers is a dangerous liability.
