Reclusive, sixteen-year-old, Simon Godswill is the kid from Gemville in this lightning tale of guardian angels, teen stardom, political intrigue and secret societies.
This is the beginning, before it all, before the mysterious suit, the Dark Souls, the Porters, Minders and Plagues, before the skateboard.
It all started in the tunnel. Fred and his goons had been hot on his chase. Now that was normal, there was something about him that screamed ‘punch me’ or so Fred assumed. What wasn’t normal was the way he escaped them that fateful day. He’d made use of an amazing ability he never knew he possessed.
But things get even weirder when he runs into a mysterious stranger named Dieu, who somehow has haunted him for weeks. Dieu claims he’s not human even though his looks prove otherwise. And this enigmatic fellow believes there’s more to Simon than meets the eye.
Funny thing, life changes drastically after the meeting, suddenly Simon can skate like a pro and he becomes a sort of city wide teen sensation and some really weird things happen, things he’s given up trying to explain. But Simon’s life fast becomes complicated when his father, Mayor Rutherford Godswill enrages the corrupt city council and the dangerous crime lords of the N Zone. Suddenly, the metropolis is no longer safe and life becomes a daily jumble of near brushes with vicious kidnappers, deadly assassins and wild media scrutiny.
To compound it all, members of the FOE; an ancient, clandestine, and extremely malevolent global society, gain knowledge of Simon’s existence and come to Gemville with one sole purpose, to eliminate him before he becomes a threat to their own survival.
Would Simon survive the one deadly threat he doesn’t even know exists?
