Sample Recipe…
Broccoli, Bacon and Mozzarella Bake
This is by far one of the tastiest recipes on the Consolidation phase. You could also cook this on the cruise phase as part of your protein and vegetable days.
Ingredients:
– Broccoli – 750g
– Fat free Mozzarella – 125g
– Low fat bacon cubes – 100g
– Italian seasoning – 1 tbsp.
– Paprika – 1 tsp.
– Low fat chicken broth – 50ml
– Salt and pepper to taste
Method
1. Start by pre-heating the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit
2. Boil the broccoli, along with the chicken broth until it’s soft. You can add more water if you need to.
3. Place the broth mixture into a shallow baking tray and cut up the mozzarella into thin slices before placing on top of the broth mixture.
4. Sprinkle the low fat bacon and Italian seasoning over the mixture and bake in the oven for approximately 20 minutes before serving.
You should ideally use 0% fat dairy products, but in this phase you can increase that to 2% provided there’s no added sugar.
