A routine survey mission goes terribly wrong when Adam Pons and his crew jump into an unexplored star system. An asteroid belt decimates their jump drive and forces them to crash land on the only habitable planet.
Once on the surface, their struggle for survival begins, but the greatest danger is veiled just out of sight. To their surprise, they are not alone. They discover the first intelligent species ever encountered by man. Relationships crumble and threaten to destroy them before rescue can come.
